October 2019, I began Pass It On! Kids UK with the vision to help families across the UK in need with free children’s items and reduce the amount of land fill waste that is contributed by kids items.
Similar to Toy Story 3, all toys, children’s clothing, bedding, essentials, can all be given a new loving home second or third hand. It can still make a huge difference to another family that may be in need and can’t afford brand new items.
Child poverty in the UK is at an all time high, especially during the current global pandemic. We have found a rise it request for help from basic food, to clothing, educational support items, shoes and a lot more. Many people are suffering and unable to ask for help, or aren’t entitled to help by a small fraction. It came to my attention, that not only is there a high demand of food banks, that children’s clothes, toys and essentials are also in high demand.
There are many families that struggle with the current economy, just managing to get by and it made me think, how can I help?
So I created the group to help others in need of kids items but also, needing to get rid of kids items. We all know how expensive the basic necessities can be some times, the lack of support for families and children in not just Essex but the UK.
The aim of the group is for people to have a safe place to ask for help with items for free as well as, giving away items for free that are no longer needed. If you’re wanting help, we can help.
If it’s one item, to a bundle - anything and everything can help another family in need. Let’s support and help others, even if you’re not in need, it’s nice to pass on items that are no longer needed, to have a new lease of life.
This summer I want to be able to help at least 10 families that aren’t able to get help with free school meals, just by simply providing a small shop of lunch equivalent food for the children. A lot of children across the UK will be going without food this summer, a lot depend on the free school meals as their warm dinner for the day. Not everyone is able to go through summer with just free school meal vouchers, many families have more out going’s during the summer term to be able to provide for their children.
