Our theatre company, Eye Opening Theatre, is embarking on a new and exciting adventure and we would like you to be a part of it!
We are planning on taking The Olympians, a show that we created as a company and was written into a play by our very own Beatrice Ragea, to schools in London as a theatre in education project. This means that we will be performing this show, that touches on themes that are extremely relevant for teenagers who are descovering themselves - immigration, social stigma, body image and racism, together with a relevant workshop of the school's /teacher's choice.
In order to kick start this tour we need to rehearse and although that doesn't mean we have to pay everyone, we would like to do so. We are a company founded by actors who are also creatives and therefore we understand how important it is to create paid opportunities for people from the creative industries. We also have to cover the actors' and technician's DBS checks and everyone's travel expenses and the transportation of the set for at least the first two shows. After we start earning money, the travel expenses will be covered that way.
Bottom line is we need you to kick start a project that wishes to help and to potentially change the lives of teenagers across London and that also wishes to create an opportunity for young creative people to be paid fairly for their work.
We thank you for your time and help,
Eye Opening Team
