Save the beginning of something very special by donating what ever you can to help launch The National Youth Choir of Kenya URGENTLY!
With just two weeks to go, The National Youth Choir of Kenya is in serious trouble and needs your help. Our backers and funding supporters have let us down and the entiure project is in danger unless we can raise a crucial £10,000 to fly UK staff to Nairobi to lead, teach and manage the course.
Founded by Dominic Peckham, this ground-breaking new organisation for Kenya aims to unite young Kenyan singers through choral music regardless of colour, faith or social standing. NYCK is particular dedicated to bringing the magical experiences of singing in a choir to many who would never normally get the chance. 150 young singers have been discobvered, workshopped and auditoned from across the country including many from highly challenging backgrounds and significant poverty. They are all ready to come together for the very first residential course, many who will undergo over 10hours of difficult journeys to get to us.
The course will be life-changing, will offer one-to-one singing lessons, musicianship skills, choral tuition and social and recreational opportunities to every member as only a residential course can and will culminate in the first ever concert, the first of many we hope.
There is so much excitement and Dominic and his Kenyan colleague Lizzie Jago have worked so hard and given so much time and money, so the thought of getting so close and being blocked by such a small figure is terrifying.
Please watch our two videos below from Emmanuel, watch his audition, feel the spirit of this project and donate whatever you can to save The National Youth Choir of Kenya before its too late!
