All of us here at The Miniature Pony Centre need to ask for your help. After five months of being closed for the winter season we were due to reopen our door to our lovely customers on 20th March 2020. We rely on having a good start to our open season so that we can continue to care for our 82 equines of all shapes and sizes, plus goats, pigs, chickens and other small animals.
Visits to our centre
Normally, our centre is open to the general public 7 days a week from March - November. Due to Covid-19, like many other businesses we have been unable to open. We have been trading as The Miniature Pony Centre for 34 years and our herd of Miniature Ponies really are a family. The Centre has been a long standing tourist attraction in the South West and our legacy of love and dedication remains strong.
We have kept on the minimum staff that we can to continue to give excellent care for all of our wonderful furry family - by maintaining minimal staff we are able to provide the care that they need whilst limiting contact between staff as much as possible. The staff to continue to work daily looking after all our animals. The health, welfare and happiness of our animals is paramount to us. Our other staff have opted for furlough and we miss them all terribly and the amazing work that they do for us.
We are currently foaling so our family is ever growing and we welcome each new life with love. Mares are pregnant for 11 - 12 months so back in 2019 we never expected this situation. Foals provide a beautiful, positive and joyous outlook on life at the moment and we cherish being able to welcome them all. Every year we spend a tireless but beautiful time socialising our wonderful new little ones so that they feel safe and happy with us and our wonderful customers. We have up to 10 foals due this season and they need added care to ensure that they have the very best start in life.
We are now in need of funding to continue to care for them all in the way that they need and deserve. We are asking you, our lovely customers and supporters if you can spare a donation no matter how much that will be in these difficult times. This money will go directly towards the care of our animals. Farrier, feed and veterinary costs are bills that we still continue to have and are crucial to the welfare of our family.
We know that this is a terribly difficult time for everyone. If you can not donate we would ask that you could share this post for us as this would help us immeasurably.
We would like also to take this opportunity to wish you all lots of love. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again.
Thank you from every one here, human and furry, at The Miniature Pony Centre xxxx
