Just wanted to add a little more, for books for the library. Libraries make learning democratic as you don't need to pay to use them. And libraries were my first access to books. Thank you Vernon, for all you and the team have done. Stay strong and grow. Trees such beautiful beings and you are one of the best.

This is a brilliant book. I gave a copy to my partner for her birthday - today! It seems totally appropriate to share another copy with the young people of my home town.

I went to University in Sheffield many years ago and am glad that todays school kids will get to see and learn from this wonderful book

Having a Sheffield connection, loving trees and books, how could I not support this. I believe that every school should have a copy of ‘The Lost Words’.

Lyn Carruthers 8th June 2018

This is such a great idea and I fully support children and young people getting a chance to see, think about appreciate the natural world and it's wonders.

Love this book and love all trees and Sheffield - it is so important we take care to teach children the importance of nature around them and that we are stewards of this world for all the children to come after us.

Delighted to be able to support this fabulous appeal. I hope the magic of this beautiful book spreads through the schools and children of Sheffield and inspires them to seek, find and to speak about the natural wonders around them.

Great idea for all Sheffield schools to have access to this book whilst at the same time raising awareness across the city of the Vernon Oak's fight against Sheffield City Council and their plan to cut him down ... shame on SCC!

Believing that every student at Sheffield Primary School will benefit greatly by having a copy of The Lost Words. May it serve and inspire your road ahead. Best Wishes, Valarie Budayr

Great to see more schools in line to receive this fantastic book. If kids can name and identify with nature around them, I hope that as adults they will never sign contacts like the Sheffield tree "management" one. Best of luck!

When we were approached at the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust to see if we would like to support this fantastic project, we were really excited to do so. Bringing nature to children in as many ways as possible is so important to us. Personally I think the book is beautiful and will be buying a copy for my own girls and am delighted to support this project.

Not only a beautiful book but one that needs to be made available for every child to read and be inspired by the message and the gorgeous pictures.

Some books have the potential to inspire a whole generation. TLW is one of them... Great to see it made available to as many young people as possible.
