Yes, all in favour of getting this wonderful book into children's hands. BUT why not persuade the Primary schools to match-fund if they're really serious about it - i.e. school buys a book to get a second one free. Then again they could have bought 'The Lost Words' from Amazon at a tenner, half the RRP with a little extra for p&p. I know, I know, Amazon's a Big Ugly Giant and we should support the local independent - but who said #Biggreenbookshop is a local children's charity? Eddie Finnegan

Well done Big Greensters! Another great idea from a great shop. If you can get to the Foundling Museum to see the exhibition of original artwork, accompanied by the poetry, do so

I love this book and had been thinking how great it would be for local schools to have a copy... Then I saw this. Thank you, Big Green Bookshop and to everyone else who has pledged money

I have loved so many of Robert Macfarlane ‘s writings. I think it’s too sad that so many of these beautiful words and the natural life that goes with them are disappearing from young people’s lives .

We have such a rich language and we need to ensure future generations have an understanding of where it all comes from. Well done Big Green Bookshop for starting this project.

Best of luck getting this beautiful book shared around all the schools of Haringey (and hopefully beyond!).

Mandy Norman 27th March 2018

This book is beautiful and would be an absolutely fantastic gift for all primary schools in Haringey. It should go nationwide. Good luck!

Nature is so important for children: their minds, their bodies, their souls and their well being. This book links nature to language, to words and literature, with beautiful illustrations by an artist whose connection to the natural world is celebrated by many readers. This is such a worthy project and I am proud to support it.

This is such a fantastic idea, using a wonderful book. I am paying (as it were) for a copy to go to my nearest and most special primary schools North Harringay, South Harringay, Chestnuts and West Green Primary and one more for luck! And I hope a copy gets to every school in the borough.

This book opens up the outdoors even when children are in the classroom all day. Would love to see it in every Haringey school!
