The Harbour

We aim to raise £3,000 to help more people impacted by life-threatening illness.

We did it!

On 25th Nov 2017 we successfully raised £3,427 of £3,000 target with 35 supporters in 42 days

New stretch target

If you can help us to reach £10,000 with our Anniversary Appeal, we will be able to take forward a planned new outreach project which will help us to reach those in Bristol who are most isolated and who face a range of obstacles to accessing our help.

Please donate what you can, to help us to support more people like Sasha when they need it the most.

Our project is about providing free psychotherapy for people here in Bristol who are impacted by life-threatening illness. We offer this support to people who are ill, their carers and loved ones, and to people who have been bereaved.

There is often little or no support for people facing the loss and isolation that comes with life-threatening illness.  As Sasha describes in our video, relationships with partners, children, friends, can be placed under huge strain, leaving the people affected isolated and alone, at a time when they may most need support.

That is why The Harbour exists: to offer a safe and confidential space to express the feelings, fears and frustrations that can accompany the journey through serious illness, from diagnosis to death, or a return to health.  The work we do helps to reduce levels of anxiety and depression, and often leaves people better able to manage their situation.

Demand for our service is growing at an alarming rate.  In the last six months we have had a 25% increase in referrals compared to the same period last year.  Last year we delivered 32% more counselling sessions than the year before.

Over the next six weeks, we are asking you to help us respond to this demand.

As an added incentive, we have sourced some unique rewards to thank you if you donate £15 or more!
