The Guardianship Project

Project by Essington RUFC
The Guardianship Project

The Guardianship Project aims to bring peace of mind and security to visitors to the club, to club members and their families.

We did it!

On 28th May 2017 we successfully raised £1,575 of £1,500 target with 24 supporters in 28 days

Essington Rugby club are mindful that they are responsible for not just the rugby club as a building but also for everyone that visits us.  We are the Guardian of the club and its visitors.

A few years ago we had unwanted visitors (not mice!) break through the walls of the club, not just once but many times.  The only way that we could stop this was to plate the outside wall with metal, so hopefully we have managed to secure the building itself.

The break-in point

Now we want  all visitors and members to feel safe within the walls of the club  by adding CCTV.  This  would enable the club to monitor all of its visitors whether they are welcome ones or not.

CCTV cameras can act as a very successful deterrent to thieves and burglars, certainly making them think twice at the very least!

Within the rugby community there is a history of thieves walking into changing rooms while teams are playing and stealing valuables, cameras monitoring entrances would capture such people.

With CCTV we would be able to monitor functions at the club to ensure the safety and well being of the families that visit us.

It would seem that the local Parish council is also concerned about vandalism and thefts in the local area!

CCTV at the club would work along side the council installation.

Help us to make Essington a safer community.
