It’s this weekend!
I'm on the train to the site. The crew are there already and the official staff office is now up and running. We’ve been planning the 2016 Festival on the new Kirkleatham site since the beginning of the year and, as you can imagine, we’re excited – and to be honest I’m always a little nervous at this point – to get this Festival up and running and to welcome all our thrifty festival goers through the gates.
As the Marketing Coordinator for the Festival I sit in the middle of the activities, I hearing about the artists and what they have planned, pulling together the copy and the images, looking at the site areas and the activities in them, dealing with the press enquiries and questions from the general public. The demonstrations, the stalls, the food and drink, the activities, the music… it all comes together – along with the operational stuff like toilets, signage, waste management, insurance etc – to become this weekend!
The programme is available to download here – www.festivalofthrift.co.uk/programme - which gives you a taster of what’s in store (I couldn’t fit everything in so you’ll still find some surprises on site!).
Just a last thank you for supporting our Crowdfunder. It is appreciated. I hope you can come to the Festival. Admission is FREE!
