A re-envisioning of Harold Pinter's 'The Dumb Waiter' by Coventry based practitioners Consortium Theatre Company.

by Consortium Theatre Company in Coventry, West Midlands, England

Consortium Theatre Company is an emerging theatre company comprised of undergraduates from Coventry University. For our first production we are planning to create a radical re-envisioning of Harold Pinter's The Dumb Waiter, which will pair the original text with pedestrianised stylistic movement and new musical composition.

However in order to create this project we are obliged to find our own sources of funding, unfortunately as Students we cannot make an application to the arts council and so will be reliant upon crowdfunding and ticket sales (presuming we obtain the money to make the performance) to create and stage our production.

This money will provide us with the resources to create set and purchase the rights for the play which will initially be performed at the Ellen Terry building of Coventry University followed by a festival of university theatre work which we are hoping will be a springboard to a tour of this production to select venues around the West Midlands with a focus on bringing theatre to communities that lack a large artistic presence.
