I run a crochet design studio and yarn boutique in Hertfordshire, running weekly workshops and retreats for crochet enthusiasts. I'm basically addicted to crochet...and yarn, I like to squish it. My tiny business is a one man band, and my main aim is always to use my own business to support other tiny businesses. I love the craft community, it's packed full of lovely, wonderful and supportive people. I also juggle being a mum and a part-time "real world" job. It's pretty hectic round here.
I have now launched a monthly yarn subscription box, stuffed full of yarn from independant yarn dyers/spinners, less common high street brands and goodies. My aim for this box is to promote lesser known yarn brands, giving subscribers a varied and exciting insight into the world of yarn. It has had great support/interest and is already totting up subscribers.
I now need to expand my business by marketing at some big shows in 2017, I have stalls at Kirsty Allsopp's Handmade Fair and The Knitting and Stitching Show to name a few. These don't come cheap and I have exhausted my own funds. My business is slowly building but needs a cash boost in order to reach it's potential. The money I raise through crowdfunding will go towards stall costs, and marketing/signage required to make an impact to customers. If I overfund, any additional money raised will be donated to the Willow Foundation, chosen by my lovely friend who valiantley battled breast cancer last year.
