Over the last few years you've seen us working on the van that carries us, and your Tavern, to events. You've seen alot of cosmetic and mechanical work between events, and you most likely know that last year we had to replace the engine completly when the turbo blew. Prior to that we had to replace the rear suspension as it failed on the way into Wales, as well as have the towing pin reinforced, and numerous other small jobs.
Initially we recovered from the set backs, and started to save up again, however recently we had to replace the radiator as she could barely make 300 miles without being topped up with coolant. In total this takes us to over £8000 spent on keeping the van on the road when she was bought for £1400.
When the radiator was replaced we found out that there is an overpressure issue within the engine block. This, on top of the previous problems, has led us to conclude that we are in dire need of a new van. Or at least a newer van. As she now goes at a grand high speed of 50mph, with her engine temperature spiking above 100DegC for no apparant reason.
This project, and its stretch goals, is intended purely to get a new van for us that is fit for purpose, and safe for us and the dogs.
