Hi my name is Steven cowley and I founded the creative health project. We aim to raise awareness of mental health issues and reduce stigma and promote healthy living. We are a creative community project and require some crowd funding support to develop the project to meet our aims and objectives. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated so far and we are looking to raise money to enable the project to run a number of groups and activities for those with lived experience of mental health. We wish to run 6 groups and events including 3 poetry and spoken word events and are planning an event for World mental health day in October and we need funds to pay for venue hire in a hitchin community centre.
.over the last 6 months I have been working on building the WordPress website and building a strong network across Hertfordshire region with many charities and organisations and creative people wishing to take part. We are also making a mental health film and have secured a few important interviews and we have raised enough funds to enable our project to produce and edit this film. We also raised enough funds to pay for the website hosting costs and basic travel expenses
We want to hold 6 community groups. Each one will require a venue room hire for 2-3 hours and this costs £55 per event to run. We will use a community venue in North Hertfordshire and provision of basic refreshments. We are keen to receive any donations and if you are a business or creative person then we can promote your links via our Website and social media and write a positive blog about your business.
We are a creative health project and our yearly running costs are £1000 to cover every aspect of the project and we have successfully raised a large part of that yearly cost and we now seek to raise the remaining £235 and this would cover the key events we have planned this year and we would welcome any questions.
The creative health project is not for profit community project and we are soon to launch the WordPress website which will grow and develop to bring the community together and enable those with lived experience of mental health issues to share their creativity and will be of benefit to many people.
World mental health day in October each year is an important time to come together as a community and we will be holding poetry readings and a small art and photography exhibition for our service users to be a part of. At the moment it is only myself working on the project and I don't receive any payment for my time and I am happy to break down all of our expenditure if required
£5 donations will be eligible for a signed copy of my first publication of poetry book Runaway train and we also seek 1-2 large donations in return for promotion and recognition on our Website and social media
The groups and events will bring the community together and relieve loneliness and isolation and covid19 has had a big effect on the wellbeing of the nation and now is the time to come together and be creative and we work closely with other charities and organisations in the local region and we welcome any collaboration on future events
Many thanks for your time and potential help with my project requirements and I'm happy to discuss further and feel free to ask any questions.
£1-£50 donations would be much appreciated and kind regards Steven
