We are raising awareness of mental health illness to reduce stigma and promote wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle

by The creative health project in Bygrave, England, United Kingdom

I personally have over 20 years experience of mental health issues and i am a published poet, our project is very relevant during covid19 and we aim to raise awareness of mental health illness to reduce stigma. We also aim to promote wellbeing and living a healthy lifestyle.

We are a creative project and we will use our website and social media to promote health issues especially mental health.

We share creativity from those with lived experience and this includes poetry, art, photography, films, music and will write regular articles and blogs and we are raising this money to pay for the film making costs to do our short film on mental health, the remaining money raised is for the website hosting costs and travel costs for service users.

We will hold regular events in the community and will have a spoken word and poetry event and also a creative coffee morning every month. We have already secured a grant and some private donations and we would really appreciate some help with the website costs and to make our main film

2020 has been a difficult year for many people and our community project is available during these unprecedented times, our main objectives are to raise awareness and reduce stigma and we do this through creative projects.

We are completely not for profit and have no staff expenses and i work on the project at no cost to the project and our yearly running costs total £600 per year. We want to set up a regular podcast where we will interview someone different each time which will always be on the theme of mental health, this medium is very popular and we will further reach out to many more people. To set up the podcast we need £65 for the podcast equipment and we will do the first one by the end of January.

We are a small community not for profit project and would massively appreciate a small donation, if we can raise the money we hope to this will fully enable the project to achieve our main objectives. Along with the online aspects we are also holding regular community events especially poetry events and spoken word and will be holding a small launch event for the main documentary we are making.

If you could please spare a few pounds to support our healthy minds project and enable our project to reach out to many to reduce stigma and increase awareness of mental health. We have already secured half of the yearly running costs for our project requirements and are now seeking the final donations to pay for vital aspects of the community project, please give what you can. We are based in Hertfordshire but as a lot of the project is online we will reach an audience across the UK and around the world, our website will have in depth information on charities and community projects with links and resources for those seeking help. Our articles and blogs will contain informative pieces and interviews to raise awareness. We are almost finished building the website and will be starting the project as soon as donations are received.

Many thanks for taking the time to consider our project.
