The Creative Collective is a Mobile Art Class With a Difference.
Open to learners of all ages anywhere in the country (and beyond if things really take off) classes will take advantage of England's outstanding natural beauty.
The idea is to create a motorhome/ outdoor classroom that can travel the country building communities, supporting positive mental health and inspiring creativity wherever it goes.
In addition to advertised classes being ran nationwide students will be able to book a visit from the Creative Collective Classroom wherever they are in the country for free and can follow the location of the Creative Collective Classroom online. Classes can be held for groups or for 1-1 tuition.
Once a student is part of the Collective they will have access to the Creative Collective online lesson content and can continue learning at there own pace even when the classroom has departed. This online space will act as a place to share students work and communicate with peers.
In addition to online lesson content, online lessons will take place weekly and I, the teacher, will be available for 1-1 support and advise through the online classroom.
I will be living in and teaching from the Creative Collective Classroom all year round so am hoping to raise the money to buy an appropriate motorhome to convert into an adaptable living space and get this project up and running.
I have been teaching in the community learning sector for a couple of years now after attaining my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
The courses I run are all based around well-being and positive mental health but I have found that a traditional classroom setting does little to inspire even the most creative of people.
I want to remove the learner from the classroom and place them in the heart of there interests while maintaining the structure of an efficient learning experience.
I believe the great thing about this project is the versatility. Being able to choose the learning environment and adapt it to the individual interest of the learners.
should the learner group have an interested in trains for example, I could set up class in view of a railway station allowing the learner to be fully immersed in the enhanced learning environment.
