Our aim is to raise money to help fund the foundations of the community waffle house so that we can be open soon to the general public.

Hello there everyone.

We are the team behind 'WAFFLE' a Community Waffle House with a heart for Axminster in the heart of Axminster and we would love your help!

The Community Waffle House has been set up as a not-for-profit organisation which means that 100% of the profits will go back into the community of Axminster.

What's the name all about?

We will be hand-baking from fresh the very best Belgian Waffles with a range of fresh toppings alongside amazing local coffee, juices, milkshakes, cakes etc. but, more importantly for us, we believe in the power of 'waffling' as a community to tackle loneliness and isolation.

What's your vision?

To create a community-owned and run space in the heart of the town that can be used to bring the community together to form unlikely friendships right across the community from the oldest to the youngest with a particular focus on those that struggle with loneliness or are isolated.

How are you hoping to do that?

Through initiatives like a 'pay-it-forward' scheme where people can buy coffee for the less fortunate, a voting system in-house where people can decide where they want the profits to go, hosting free community events and educations workshops in conjunction with Teach South West and providing a safe space for teenagers to go in the evening.

Why do you need funding?

We're glad you asked! Essentially, we have secured a property and, starting from scratch, we have been busy over the past 6 weeks roping in people from all over the community but we could really use some funding to be able to push on with the re-fit (electrics, building works, décor) and get everything ready to open for early 2019.

What do I get in return?

We are hoping that you will join with us in investing in the Axminster of tomorrow. We don't have much besides our passion for this town and a deep-set belief that we need to do something to tackle the loneliness and isolation that so often stems from a simple lack of desired contact and spans the generations and the sexes. If you want to see that happen too we're hoping that you'll believe us when we say that your gift today will be a gift back to the community tomorrow.

We hope this wasn't too much waffle for you.

Let's make 'The Community Waffle House' happen
