Something that has always fascinated me is the creative talent that exsits and continues to thrive in the UK. Yet the archival of this information is somewhat disjointed. We are creating a wonderfully rich online archive of British writers, illustrators, musicians, entertainers, comedians, documentary makers, tv sitcom writers, artists, directors and much more, in a beautifully simple, easy to navigate archive which will provide a fantastic resourse to history of our creative genius and something that will inspire future creative minds.
We are starting with classics from a selection of areas, including children's authors, classical composers, sitcom writers, actors and directors and will continue to fill the archive on a weekly basis.
Why do we need funding?
It's going to take a lot of work and there will be a lot of research in addition to the costs of building, hosting and maintaining the archive. So we need some help, that's where you guys and gals come in. Whatever you dontate to this project will be used wisely and we'll make sure you get a credit in the archive as a founding supporter.
Do we just need money?
No! In addition to the funding we would love to work with historians and experts to contibute to the archive. We'd also like to work with major organisations who feel they could contribute to the archive. There are some well known british institutions of course who i'm sure have plenty of knowledge they would love to share.
A final word
The aim of this project is not to make a profit but to support the archiving of a fascinating and wonderful collection of British creatives, provide a source for learning and inspiration. Something to show the world how proud we are of our wonderful talents both past and present.
