The Black Cat Cafe is raising funds, not many days and a lot to try to raise.
The Black Cat Cafe opened its doors on March 2nd 2015, the aim was to provide quality food at affordable prices and to create employment for local people. Since the opening date we have slowly gained regular custom. A large amount of our customers are from local sheltered housing, bedsits and care assisted facilities, for many customers the meal they eat at our cafe is the only hot food they will eat each day, this is why we try to keep our prices resonably low so that we are able to cater for those living in the area which we are based.
In order to keep growing and providing employment opportunities we need to raise money, this will allow us to;
- Provide more variety for people and to cater for specific diets such as gluten free (Coeliac), Vegetarian and Vegan. To achieve this we need separate storage and seperate equipment to prevent cross contamination and we need to increase supply's that we currently hold.
- Repaint the outside and iner front area of the cafe, at the moment we are losing custom, we listen to customer feed back and many customers have commented that they have difficulty finding our cafe due to the fact that it doesn't stand out and that from the outside the cafe looks tired and run down despite the fact that inside is fresh and new.
- Buy new equipment such as a larger coffee machine, this would allow for faster service of drinks, in addition to serving paying customers we are part of the Share the Warmth Scheme which provides hot drinks to people in need.
- Revamp the back section of the cafe, due to our budget which we had to work with when we set up the cafe we ran out of funds towards the end, this area would be provided as a meeting place to local groups and charities free of charge.
Thank you for your help.
