On the 22nd October I will be running the Sheffield 10k at the Rother Valley Country Park raising money for fellow nurses suffering hardship. But there’s a twist… I’ll be doing it on a space hopper and the event will be live on Twitter!
The charity I’m supporting is Cavell Nurses’ Trust. They provide support for UK nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants, both working and retired, when they’re suffering personal or financial hardship – often because of illness, disability, domestic abuse and the effects of older age.
In 2016 they received nearly 2,000 calls for help from nursing professionals and in the first half of this year, there’s already been a 32% rise in calls for help, so this is very worrying.
Cavell Nurses’ Trust can help nurses by signposting to partner organisations, maximising benefits, funding new clothes after weight loss due to illness, repairing a broken boiler to heat the family home or funding towards setting up a new home as the result of suffering domestic abuse. This support has a huge impact on nurses' lives.
So I need YOUR help to help them to continue providing this lifeline to nurses. Your sponsorship will make a BIG difference. How can you help?
Sponsor a kilometre! I’m aiming to hop the Sheffield 10k and each kilometre is available to be sponsored for £100. I love using Twitter and have almost 30,000 followers so your £100 donation means that I will get your company great social media exposure with your company name or logo appearing on all the pictures I tweet during that kilometre. And I can tweet a link to your website too!
Sponsor my shirt! If you sponsor my T-shirt, I will print your name or company logo at the front or back of my vest and it will appear in all the pictures.
I can guarantee that my tweets will reach a large audience. It will be a golden opportunity to give your brand a fantastic exposure for a very small price and the chance to change the lives of nurses suffering hardship. Not a bad return on your investment, eh?
Please help. Thank you.
