In her early twenties, playing in a vibrant indie music scene, guitarist Haley Wilson is almost knocking down the door of success; people are starting to become aware of her talent, and a local magazine is looking to interview her for a feature article. The future is bright... until late one night after a gig she is attacked and her hands are badly damaged. Days later she learns that the damage is permanent, and that she will never play the guitar again. After a period of depression and self-reflection, she starts to meet a new group of people who make her see the future, and her beloved music, differently. The Ballad Of Haley Wilson is an emotional drama concerning universal themes of hope, friendship and love, set amongst the bars and backstreets of Manchester.
Why We Need You:
We are a group of third-year University students studying Film Production at Salford, and The Ballad Of Haley Wilson is our final year project; a 45 minute film produced entirely by ourselves, from initial development ideas through to post-production and marketing. Even low-budget, short films are expensive, and we are seeking contributors for funding to enable us to make the best, most professional film possible. Following completion, it is our intention to enter film festivals, and with the reputation and proven track-record of Salford University as a starting point for talent in the industry this will hopefully give us all the initial push to follow our own dreams. Just like Haley Wilson.
Even a donation of just £1 will be incredibly useful to us, and you can see the rewards available for contributors to the right. However, even if you cannot donate, please support us by following the film , and sharing to your own social media. Please spread the word! Thank you.
