We did it
On 24th April 2019 we successfully raised £200 with 12 supporters in 41 days

My aim is to raise as much money as I can by doing ten tors for village in Ghana, so the children there can have a better life and education

My name is Lewis and I am a year 10 secondary student.

I want to try and raise money for the Assuon Foundation Trust. For me, education is one of the most important things for children when they are growing up. It determines their future. I believe that anyone, rich or poor, should be entitled to free basic education.

This year, I am taking part in The Ten Tors Challenge. This involves doing 6 months of intense training, hiking through all weather conditions. After our training, my team and I have to hike 35 miles across the unforgiving landscape of Dartmoor National Park. Because I am part of the RAF Air Cadets, I will have to face this challenge twice, once as a practice for the search and rescue teams, and another time for the actual event.

Not only do we have to carry all of our equipment, that can weigh up to 16kg, but we are completely unassisted for 2 days. We will have only our hiking knowledge, map and compass to help us on the journey.

All the money I will raise will go towards the charity.

Here are some examples of what the money can go towards:

£5 will buy Stationery for a whole class

£25 will buy a used desk top computer for a school

£50 will cover the cost of training teachers in ICT

£100 can buy 16 bags of cement towards our Resource Center Project

Our crowd has raised over £70 million for bright ideas and good causes.
