Tappuccino is the passion project of Rosie and Rhys, who wrote and performed the show to a sell out audience in Durham. We are currently developing the production into a children and family show for the Edinburgh Fringe and have been lucky enough to be offered a space by one of the four most prestigious fringe venues.
As we re work the show we are so excited to develop the production’s educational aspects, creating an interactive narrative that draws upon rainforest preservation, fair-trade and coffee farming. We are so excited to currently be conversing with a number of fair-trade and independent coffee companies on this progression.
We really hope to engage children and have a lasting impact through the show’s fun, joyous and interactive qualities. We think a show such as this is rare to come across and we want to spread the show’s love, happiness and coffee fun to as many people as possible, giving a little lift to people’s days! :D
The show itself is entirely original and had an amazing response in Durham. It is a mix of original musical/stand up/comedy/circus/tap and dance and is extremely creative and absurd, telling the story of a coffee bean who wants to tap, forming an unexpected friendship with a Barista in order to avoid being turned into a coffee!
We are so excited to be developing this show, and the response from fringe venues, fair-trade companies and audience members has been overwhelming! We would be so grateful for any contributions to help us go to Fringe!
