A new landmark public artwork, the 'Jewel of York', portraying the city's own rare, endemic tansy beetle.
by Amy-Jane Beer in York, England, United Kingdom
Chrysomelidae are some of the most abundant and widespread beetles in the world. Some are considerable pests, but most - like the glorious Chrysolina graminis - are handsome. We are fortunate to have such a lovely beetle on our riverside. This should be a lovely entrance to the city near the station My photos https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/tansybeetlechrysolinagraminis
We are very pleased to support this project, as it highlights an important environmental message and also fits with the BID's remit to foster more street art in the city.
