One in two professionals is unhappy with what they do on a daily basis (the number of which is even higher for young adults) (London Business School, 2017). That's why we’ve kicked-off Talent Courtyard – to support young, urban citizens of the world to tackle this problem.
At TC we create retreats for individuals and offer unique team-building activities to businesses. Our events are immersive experiences in natural settings, incorporating workshops related to: personal development; mental health management; arts; digital skills; mind-opening talks; physical exercise; outdoor activities; entertainment and networking opportunities.
Each event is specifically designed to provide all kinds of professionals the guidance and support necessary to effectively navigate their professional and personal well-being.
The idea of Talent Courtyard came about when we realised that instead of being “fine”, many of our friends and colleagues were “fine…”.
In big cities like London, our work and our lives move at a rapid pace. Although we might thrive on it, the pace often makes it difficult for us to stop and reflect on how we really feel about our situation and our life choices in general.
When finally catching up with friends on various occasions, we found that we all had the same concerns and questions; so we came up with the idea of combining a fun, relaxing event with workshops and networking – to finally address these concerns and answer these questions. We ended up organising various events where people have the opportunity to relax, reflect and understand how to move forward through a set of mind-opening and entertaining activities.
Our core team consists of a handful of talented people including business minds, workshop facilitators, artists and creatives who are working hard to provide a cohesive retreat experience.
Andrea, our founder is a passionate entrepreneur, strategist and personal branding coach. She cares deeply about culture & diversity and is a dancer at heart.
Tobias is a composer, musician and sound engineer. Next to experimenting with electronic and acoustic tunes, through his workshops he also aims to make music more accessible to anyone who enjoys the process of listening and playing.
Klara studied graphic design and transpersonal art therapy. The focus of her workshops is the human soul and how arts can influence it. She also practises yoga and zen shiatsu (massage).
Giulia is a certified kundalini yoga teacher and is currently training to become an art therapist. She facilitates “Yoga, Art and Storytelling” workshops for adults and children, and runs yoga courses for stress management.
Anna is an English major at heart who fulfilled her dream in becoming a photographer. With a background in community building and management she carefully curates Talent Courtyard's workshops and also materialises the shared experience in the form of photos.
Peter is a software and web developer who is both Talent Courtyard's magician in terms of everything web-related and also facilitates workshops within the digital field.
Diogo's adventurous spirit has taken him all over the world, thanks to which he discovered his passion in filming. His role at Talent Courtyard is to pass on our message through moving image and to inspire others to do what they love.
WHY ARE WE CROWDFUNDING
Through demonstrating our entrepreneurial ability, coupled with our willingness to invest our time and resources into our vision of Talent Courtyard, we have received NatWest’s support in the form of being accepted onto their Accelerator Program - this provides us with access to online support, networking events, and consultants to further aid us in our plan.
Our crowdfunding campaign is your chance to become a part of the Talent Courtyard Community, and by pledging on our rewards you will be helping us to truly realise our vision and be an integral part of our journey.
Beyond this crowdfunding campaign, we are pursuing collaborations with various partners, including: artists; artisans; schools and businesses.
WHAT WE NEED THE MONEY FOR
Your pledges will help us get off the ground; covering our startup and marketing costs, investing in our invaluable team, subject matter experts and talented speakers and securing exotic retreat locations. Anything we raise over and above our target will be spent on the support of our community - including digital scalable options to provide a continued experience without physical limitations. We are full of ideas, passion and energy, just need a little help to get going!
Talent Courtyard’s events are designed for all kinds of professionals who are willing to invest in their curiosity, explore personal development opportunities beyond the usual, and to view things from new angles through the eyes of an international and open-minded crowd.
Our retreats and team-building events are designed with key takeaways in mind: providing invaluable personal development; the opportunity to push boundaries and expand your comfort zone; a network to collaborate on new projects; long-lasting relationships in a supportive community of like-minded individuals; a reconnection with nature and handcrafts; and a reconnection with each other and ourselves.
