Hi, I am Rebecca and I’d love to introduce you to Cocoa Cove - a treasure trove of confectioneries and delights. With a talent for creating dietary masterpieces, my young team and I have been treating Cornwall to the likes of handmade chocolates, fudge, and honeycomb for many years.
While life was throwing me lemons, I did what I could for my family and decided to turn something sour into something sweet – for all to enjoy!
I have recently been given the opportunity to sell my products in a chain of shops in Cornwall as well as at a few coffee shops and delis. Eventually, I also hope to have my very own shop front. This is a great achievement for my small business – one that will help me to generate better profits so that I can continue to care and provide for my family.
There is definitely a gap in the market for my confectioneries. Living in a small touristy town, sweet treats are renowned for making excellent gifts and when it’s out of season, the locals always support us – they cannot get enough of Cocoa Cove’s delights!
At the same time, many of our products are also made using gluten free, dairy free, and vegan-friendly ingredients. This allows us to supply original sweet treats to a niche market without skimping on flavour and quality ingredients.
To make this opportunity a reality, however, I will need extra hands on board as well as the right equipment and machinery required to meet the demands of a larger customer base. While I have already saved and secured 2/3s of the capital myself, I need assistance in gathering the remaining funds.
WHAT WILL YOUR FUNDS BE USED FOR
To speed up the fudge-making process and to produce less waste, I will need to invest in a piece of specialised machinery. Your assistance would help me to make this purchase and, essentially, Cocoa Cove will then be able to keep up with the higher demand for this product while sticking to a time and energy efficient process.
With four kids (who are delightful members of our team) to care for, I will also require the assistance of a more mature confectioner. This means that I will need funds to employ someone in our local community to get the ball rolling.
How Will Cocoa Cove Make A Difference to Its Community?
Apart from tantalising taste buds, Cocoa Cove appreciates its community and the support it receives, so ultimately, we also want to “give back” where we can.
Firstly, we will be giving away all unsold confectionery to local food banks and charities on a regular basis.
We will also open up job opportunities in a location where employment is scarce, especially when we are out of season. At first, we will only need one pair of extra hands but as we grow, we will need to hire additional help too.
Cocoa Cove has also been sourcing all of its ingredients locally, where possible, and we will continue to do so as we evolve. This way we can support our fellow businesses and help to improve Cornwall’s economy.
Last, but certainly not least, we will be able to continue to supply flavourful confectioneries that meet a dynamic assortment of dietary requirements. Whether you have a dairy or gluten intolerance or support a vegan-friendly diet, we will have something delicious to offer to the entire community.
To thank you for your kind gesture, we would love to offer you a reward. From fudge and chocolate bars to hampers that include an assortment of sweet treats, for each donation, we would, in turn, like to share our appreciation. This way you get to taste our products – so that you can relish in the flavour and see for yourself that our goodies definitely deserve to be produced to the max!
