We need to raise funds to pay the deposits for Talis and Andy to represent the Green Party in Swindon in the General Election, and for leaflets and other publicity to get our message out to voters.
Andy Bentley is our candidate for North Swindon.
"As we move toward one of the momentous political and economic changes this country has ever seen, this election could not come at a more critical time. We need MPs who will fight to safeguard the NHS and other public services, to oppose the savage cuts being driven by ideology of the hard-right in the Tory party. The only way to protect the future of the planet and the people on it, wherever they are, is for us all to work for the common good. There is a better way. A Greener way. I am standing up for what I believe in, to make the world a better place. I’m fighting for a future we can be proud of."
Our candidate for South Swindon is Talis Kimberley-Fairborn:
"If it’s idealistic to want to keep a publicly-owned NHS, well then, I’m idealistic. If it’s idealistic to manage the natural resources of one’s habitat to the benefit of future generations, again, I’m idealistic. I have ideals – fairness, equality, inclusiveness, diversity, neighbourliness at the grassroots and on a national scale – and I want my country to start behaving as if it believed in these things too."
Unlike the other parties the Green Party doesn't have big donors, so we have to rely entirely on members and supporters.
We are aiming to raise £1,400 to enable us to carry out an effective campaign.
Every donation will help us get our message about a fair and sustainable future to more people, and grow Green Party support in Swindon. Please chip in what you can today and help our campaign have an even bigger impact.
£700 pays for a Freepost mailing for a whole constituency
£500 pays the deposit for one candidate
£80 pays for the Freepost mailing to 10,000 people
£20 helps boost our message on social media
£10 pays for the Freepost mailing to over 1,000 people
Every Penny helps the Green Party message reach more people.
Any monies not spent as part of the general election campaign will be used by the local party for its regular campaigning activities.
By making a donation you confirm that you are eligible to make political donations in the UK, and that this donation is not made for or on behalf of any other person. Please note that donations of more than £50 can ONLY be accepted from individuals registered on a UK electoral register, (including overseas electors) and other UK-based organisations. The Electoral Commission has full details of what these are. All donations received are subject to the regulations of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.
