Asking for help is one of the toughest things I have to do. I guess everyone can relate, as at some point during our lives we have had to realise we have to ask for some form of help. The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British small businesses, which is going to make it very challenging for businesses to survive.
Together we can help each other.
With the looming threat of a second wave, the possibility of a second lockdown, and no help from the Government, it makes me very anxious as to how I will overcome this.
I run a small independent jewellery business which I have built up from scratch 5 years ago, with hard work, blood. sweat and tears. It became a successful and striving business and I developed a broad customer base. I done this by taking part in trade shows exhibiting the latest jewellery collection and meeting customers face to face, also visiting various retailers all around the country. It was a hell of a journey but, since the sudden close down in March, it meant an immediate loss of all my hard work and income. I have had to refund £25k to customers that cancelled their orders, I didn't receive any Government funding and did not qualify for any grant or funds. I was left with no income and unfortunately I could no longer pay a wage to the person who help me all those years.
As I belong to the retail and fashion industry, the future is very unclear. In order to survive and grow stronger out of this crises, rather than meeting customers face to face as I did previously, I now have to adapt to and rely on digital and social media platforms.
I have used this period of time to learn and develop myself and to remain positive and I am now ready to take my next step into the digital future. Our aim is to improve my 2 websites, one for wholesale and the other for retail. As you know, cash flow is the biggest issue for small businesses like mine and we are in need the financial aid and your support.
I am looking for your help so that I can see through the next few months. This is a way of keeping me going financially through such an uncertain time and at the same time I can invest further in the company developing the strategy.
This funding will give my company so many opportunities and will help avoid the closure of my company which I have spent years building.
The strategy is to employ a web designer to improve on my existing sites, also allowing me to purchase new collections, new equipment and create a better marketing and advertising campaign. I will outsource from professional companies which will enable me to increase my customer base through the digital and social media platforms.
For this to be achieved, I will need to raise approximately £10k. In return, I have created some exciting rewards to encourage further support to help us achieve our targets. With Christmas approaching very fast, we all need to buy gifts. Why don't you buy them from us??? With any donation, you will receive a very generous discount on my website, all designer jewellery, from silver to custom jewellery.
If this crowdfunding campaign is successful, I will be not only able to keep my company, I will be able also to see my company grow stronger as a distributer and as a retailer.
