Surrey Hills BBQ is a passion, since visiting the United States and sampling the wonderful BBQ cuisine on offer we have been obsessed with BBQ and recreating/improving the experience in the UK. It occurred to me that the wonderful produce available in the UK will make for great UK BBQ. So Surrey Hills BBQ was born and we have spent many hours perfecting the signature taste. Surrey Hills BBQ is more than just great tasting BBQ it is about sourcing, sharing and supporting great local produce.
What’s on offer at Surrey Hills BBQ?
Beef Brisket! The finest of all BBQ meets, a tougher cut that comes alive when given the low and slow treatment. The Brisket is not only cooked low and slow using our signature technique, each brisket is given many hours in our signature rub before reaching the smoker and is then repeatedly kissed by our sticky mop sauce to produce its unique flavour. In the longer term rubs and sauces will be available in local shops but for now we will focus on sharing our signature brisket at markets and events.
Who and Why?
I have spent over a decade of my life in Information Security and IT. As stated earlier it was travelling the United States that ignited my passion for BBQ. I remember it clearly one warm summers evening, I was wandering round a bit lost for what to eat. I happened upon this BBQ restaurant from the moment I walked in I was hooked, there were different woods stacked up ready for smoking, a sweet smoky smell of BBQ coming from the kitchen and the taste of tender smoked meats was on another level. It was from this moment on I knew it was something I had to do.
Events and opportunities are already lining up with almost every piece of the puzzle in place, however we need to invest in new smoking equipment and transport to ensure we can make a success of the events we attend later this year.
