Supporting our valuable volunteers
We did it
On 27th November 2018 we successfully raised £10 with 1 supporters in 35 days

To support our 30 volunteers by providing them with and funding mandatory / regulatory training allowing them to perform their role.

Withdean Youth FC is an inclusive football club for boy and girls of all ages, ability, religion and ethnic background. We place a high priority on providing both boys and girls the opportunity to participate in football, receive first class training and the use of excellent training and match day facilities.

In 2015 we were awarded our FA Charter Standard Club status after spending a period of time funding our volunteer coaches to obtain their FA coaching badges. In season 2016/17 we were awarded the Sussex FA Charter Standard Club of the year and this was followed in November 2016 when we awarded Active Sussex Sports Club of the Year. We plan to apply for our FA Chartered Standard Community Club status in early 2019.

We are proud of the strong relationships we have created in the community particularly with 5 Ways Soccer, Dorothy Stringer School and Balfour School. These relationships have helped with our development plans around providing the best coaches and training / match day facilities.

We currently have 21 youth teams ranging from Under 8 to Under 18 and have circa 300 players at the club.

We have actively encouraged girls football. We plan to create a new girls team which will ensure that we continue to have a heavy girls presence at the club. We have circa 70 girls registered at the club currently. Our plans extend creating a new girls team every season.

We are committed to promote our club as an inclusive club and we plan to invest funds into securing and developing both male and female coaches. This season we have two new female coaches and two new male coaches we wish to develop and obtain coaching qualifications through the FA Coaching Programme. We are also recruiting a female child welfare & safeguarding officer to work alongside our current male child welfare officer. There will be a cost attached to training and developing these volunteers (who are worth their weight in gold).

We have over fantastic 30 volunteers at the club and to ensure they are equipped with the necessary qualifications, we invest a lot of time and money into sending our volunteers on FA approved courses. These range from first aid to safeguarding, coaching courses and welfare courses.

Withdean Youth are committed to complying with the FA policies for youth football and supporting our volunteers, players and parents by investing in the correct training etc.

If we receive funding  we will be able to invest in providing our volunteers with the training and development they require in their voluntary roles. It will allow us to increase our funding for new and existing coaches, which in turn will allow us to continue to provide a good and safe playing environment for girls and boys of all ages and abilities.

Finally, this will all contribute to our application to become a FA Community Club in early 2019.
