UKIP Gainsborough managed to increase the Vote for our prospective MP by over 5ooo votes and achieved over the national average for UKIP.
We are fully self funded and just 64 members paid for the General Election campaign out of their own pockets. However, since the announcement of the European Union Referendum we have seen a significant interest in people wanting to know more about us and what we do. We have had a small team on the streets in Gainsborough canvassing, most weekends, and find that 31.5% of people in our area would vote to leave the EU, whereas only 11.5% would vote to remain.
However more than half of the people polled have, as yet, not decided which way to vote and we need to reach out to them. Our county is very rural and a majority of the population are farmers, or work in agriculture or related industries. Therefore we need funds to hold events, mailshot and set up steet stalls and information points. We also require funding to place advertisements in local media.
