I’m raising money to get my hydrotherapy certificate to be able to swim dogs safely in the pool.

Hi my name is Marise, I’m a a single mum of 3 children although 2 have flown the nest so currently just have my youngest at home, I work as a phlebotomist at my local doctors surgery but my real passion in life after my children is dogs.

For the last 5 years I have been volunteering at my local rescue dog shelter and I love spending my time there helping clean out, rehome, walk and foster the dogs.

I currently have 2 rescue dogs of my own Bandit my 4 year old husky and Jasper my 18 month old cheeky terrier. Bandit has had a rough time as she was kicked and has had to have surgery and rehabilitation work for her left hip, it was during this time that we discovered hydrotherapy. We started going along to strengthen the muscles in her back legs to give her more support and within the 10 weeks she gained 2cm on both back legs. I became really interested in how beneficial these methods are in strengthening and repairing damage done to our beloved pets. With my love of dogs and desire to make them better I feel a natural affinity with this being a progression for me in my career, I have even been offered a job in this field if I can do the relevant course. The only thing standing in my way sadly is £2,500, as a single parent I don’t have any way of paying for the course myself. There’s nothing I would love to do more than help other dogs and their owners who are in the same situation that Bandit and myself were in. If you feel you can donate please do, every little goes a long way. Thank you in advance x
