The team of staff at Drakes Farm have worked hard to care for the horses as we have moved in and out of Lockdown. It is not enough to just feed and water them, they need to be checked and cared for. And like humans horses need interaction and enrichment, some more than others or injuries start to happen due to boredom.
This time of year January to March can be extra tricky due to the weather and with the 3rd Lockdown continuing our resources are stretched to breaking point. The staff have been amazing despite reduced hours and furlough, as we have attempted to reduce costs. Nevertheless the horses cant be put on furlough and they still need lots of care, food, farriery and also the vet.
We aim to be here after lockdown for the benefit of our horses our staff and the customers that will want to get active horse riding when we are allowed. So at this critical time your help would be amazing
