Support Signs is a new community support service based in Ivybridge, Devon that is run entirely by volunteers. We are offering support for a wide range of issues for families, children and young people:
- Advice on SEND issues
- Well-being listening
- Employment and Education support (including university and college applications)
- Support with referrals and applications.
- face to face support - 1:1 consultations and groups - when a venue is found (in process)
Kat and Marie are the founders of the service and want to use the money raised to fund wellbeing groups and activities for their community. Kat and Marie both have experience running wellbeing groups for children and young people and are aware of the expense of the materials and resources needed to facilitate this.
By prioritising the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, Kat and Marie feel they can build positive, strong community relationships and combat some of the issues currently being faced, especially those due to the pandemic. There is currently a huge demand on local services for these kinds of support but lack of support available to meet the need. We will be helping increase the capacity to make wellbeing support more accessible for more families, children and young people in Ivybridge.
