The upcoming city council elections on the 2nd of May are extremely important - as 3 seats are up for election in the University & Scotforth Rural ward, students have the opportunity to have their concerns heard in council and keep campus red.
Labour members in the ward nominated incumbent Cllr Oliver Robinson alongside two first year students, Jack O'Dwyer Henry and Katie Whearty, to be the candidates in University & Scotforth Rural in this years City Council Elections.
These 3 candidates seek to continue on the great work that our 3 sitting Labour councillors have delivered for students. University councillors have been vital in Lancaster City Council's declaration of a climate emergency, and have worked with the University and Lancaster Students' Union to tackle rogue landlords and secure a worship space for the University's Hindu Society.
We need your help in making sure we can win all 3 seats for Labour and keep our campaign running for the whole election period. While we are the largest political society on campus, we do not charge membership fees, so we need to raise funds independently for our campaign.
Donations to a political party are regulated by the Political Parties Elections and Referendums Act 2000. By making a donation on crowdfunder to Lancaster University Labour Club’s campaign fund , I understand and accept the following:
