Raise funds to campaign for MP in Shrewsbury and Atcham. It's time for a new approach, refocusing national politics onto local issues.

by Hannah Locke in Shrewsbury, England, United Kingdom

I grew up in Shropshire, and have been inspired by recent events to run for MP in Shrewsbury and Atcham. I stand to become the first female MP in the constituency, and the youngest MP in the country.

My primary aims are to inspire the younger generation to become politically active, and give the people of Shrewsbury and Atcham a non-partisan, truly representative voice in Westminster.

If elected, I plan to seek direct opinions from my constituents on every vote, through online opinion polls. I will also seek the advice of longer standing local political figures, to ensure the views and opinions of my constituents are represented in Parliament to the best of my ability.

As an independent candidate, I have no party funding or support to fall back on, so every pound you are able to donate will make a difference, and will go directly towards my campaign. To minimise our carbon footprint, my campaign will be focused on online and personal interactions. However, there are still a number of unavoidable costs.

In order to hear what matters to the people of Shrewsbury and Atcham, I must first reach out to them. This will be achieved most effectively through leaflet drops, and hosting events to meet with my potential constituents in person.  All of which are direct costs and need funding.

It is vital that my message reaches as many of my future constituents as possible, and any and all contributions will go a long way towards helping me reach my goal.
