Support for 81 year old who was raped in London

Raising funds for an 81 year old rape victim who was dragged to a secluded area & assaulted after getting off the 155 bus in Balham, London.

We did it!

On 10th Apr 2017 we successfully raised £56 with 6 supporters in 56 days

Just set up today so needs some love to get it going.

I was so shocked about this horrendous story I read on many news sites today where a female 81 year old was hospitalised after getting off a bus on a Friday evening, followed and raped in London. This is someone's mother, grandmother potentially even a great grandmother. I don't know them but was so impacted by the horrendous story I wanted to try and build at least some financial support for this lady. Imagine if it was one of your family.

The police are also asking for a witness to come forward and to find the ladies jacket so please read the info below and help if you can.

Luckily the suspect who carried out the attack has been caught but we all know that rape doesn't finish once the act is over or even when the person is caught.  Although money doesn't undo this terrible act it hopefully will help provide some financial and community support in helping the individual become strong and confident again. Please give what you can.

This is a copy from the BBC website:

An 81-year-old woman was raped after being followed when she got off a bus on a busy road, police say. The victim was attacked after leaving the 155 bus in Balham High Road, south London, at 20:30 GMT on Friday. The woman was taken to hospital after the attack. A man from Tooting was charged with two counts of rape and one count of kidnap/false imprisonment on Sunday. The 41-year-old is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Police are trying to find the victim's coat, which went missing during the attack. Det Insp Melissa Laremore said the red Marks and Spencer jacket has "important evidential value".

She added: "My team are keen to trace a male witness seen on Rinaldo Road, Balham, on the evening of the incident. "He was wearing a jacket with a distinctive American flag design on the back."I would urge him to come forward and contact police."
