Why are we fund raising?
Amy Foskett Dance started in late 2017 where we performed our first work at Town Hall Arts, Trowbridge. Since then we have performed in multiple festivals and events such as Resolutions, Emerge, Evolve, Foot Print Dance Festival and much more. We have a great support from Swindon Dance and the New London Performing Arts Centre they have helped our journey as a company so much. Now in 2019 we are in need of financial help.
AFD want to develop a new work 'Burning House' as well as extending our other piece 'The Wolves'. The money we are asking for will help with the costs of travel and accommodation to our different residencies within Wiltshire and London. We hope to have a three week creation period at the start of 2020. Two in Swindon and one in London.
As a early dance company, financially these creation weeks can be challenging to fund. Any support to this project will go a long way and help to further the development of Amy Foskett Dance. If our target is met it will help towards our first ACE funding application and give us the extra support we need as a new dance company, giving fair pay to dancers, providing costumes, set and the chance to work with new lighting designer Lewis Johnson.
About new work 'Burning House'
Burning House (working title) explores the ideas of mortality, within our planet and our bodies. The inevitable doom of our lives and blissfully ignoring it. Ignorance is bliss comes to mind. Playing with the comforting feeling of immortality and disregard to death.
