Jo Bird is standing in Bromborough as the Labour/Co-op candidate for the forthcoming by-election.
Jo is a strong voice, standing up for issues that are important to local residents such as defending our NHS, supporting access to affordable housing, and protecting local jobs and services.
Defending our NHS
"Last year, I played an active role in our successful Labour-led campaign to re-open Eastham NHS Walk-In Centre. Thank you to 2,000 people who signed our petition. The much used Centre has fully re-opened for 8 hours a day, 7 days a week - benefiting everyone in Bromborough ward and beyond."
Access to affordable housing
"I helped to found Save Our Social Housing action group to stop Magenta Living’s agency, Bamboo, from letting former Council houses out at private sector rates."
Protecting local jobs and services
"I’m looking forward to supporting New Ferry business and residents and joining with Alison McGovern MP, Wirral Council, Mayor Steve Rotherham and others, in pushing for high quality, community-led regeneration. The lack of Conservative government support for New Ferry after last year’s explosion, is in marked contrast to £7.5m (plus £4.1m for Police) provided to support post-attack Salisbury earlier this year."

Campaigning is crucial to spreading our message. It requires real organisation and commitment to the cause, which Jo and the team certainly have. But it also requires funding, which is where you come in.
Your support will go a long way. Whether it's used to help fund room hire for local events, to help keep our fantastic canvassing team warm with a cup of tea or two, or to produce social media videos promoting our message, it all adds up.
