Basingstoke Community Rugby Football Club (BRFC), founded in 1948, is very proud of its position in the community and has a strong tradition of developing home based talent from the under 6’s upwards with many players evolving into county, country and professional players.
BRFC welcomes the entire community to be part of our growing club. Excellent rugby coaching is provided and supported at all levels, both competitively and socially with an emphasis on making the experience as safe and enjoyable as possible.
With around 650 members which includes 350 Junior players and 3 senior teams (men’s & women’s) we have become a centre of excellence for girl’s rugby with 3 girls’ teams (U13-U18) and a lady’s team all playing in competitive leagues, making us one of the largest girl’s sections in Hampshire.
As a testament to the strength of the Youth section of the club, a number of players have gone on to play for Premiership Clubs, Age Grade International appearances and even England. This we believe demonstrates the strong pathway we have in place from Mini’s to Senior Rugby. We truly are a community club who try to give back to the community.
On the 20th March the club was closed in line with Government advice. This, with all rugby activity being stopped, means that we have had no income since then, but we still have costs to pay to keep the club ticking over.
We understand there are many organisations out there requiring financial help but if you are able to and would like to donate, everything raised will ensure the club has income to continue to provide our wonderful community facility for all.
