We have put together a programme of horse care & riding activities for people with disabilities and their families to spend time together at our stables. Our new Summer Pony Club sessions will enable up to 32 children, young people and adults to enjoy the experience of caring for and riding a horse.
The participants from our local community will benefit from a healthy outdoor activity in beautiful surroundings working with one of our 8 RDA horses and ponies. Riders will work with our friendly coaches and volunteers to learn how to care for their horse and experience the thrill of riding.
We will use the funds to make activities accessible to all and will provide new equipment for the horse care sessions and healthy drinks and snacks at break time.
These sessions will also be an opportunity for the organisation to train two new instructors and help them gain RDA coaching qualifications which will benefit the organisation for future years.
Summer Pony Club will also provide new volunteering opportunities for people of all ages in the local community.
Our Summer Pony Club project will give many local people, who would not normally be able to access equine therapeutic activities, the chance to enrich their lives through horses.
