We caught up with Eleanor Harrington to hear about her Crowdfunding experience.
Q: Why did you decide to Crowdfund?
A: We decided to Crowdfund for 'Bubble & Squeak: Kids Saving Surplus Food!' as we saw it as a great way to raise the funds we needed to expand our grass root community project.
Q: What does the funds raised mean for your project?
A: It means we can grow our project with the satisfaction of knowing we have engaged the community around us with the work we are doing.
Q: How is crowdfunding different from how you normally finance or fundraise for projects?
A: Crowdfunding requires you to look outwards to the networks immediately around you and engage with them to gather their support. You know if they don't believe what you doing they will not pledge, so a very honest way to gather feedback!
Q: What will you use the money for and what has happened since you hit your crowdfunding target
A: We are going to use the money to buy a shipping container, have it delivered and fitted in the school premises with our stretch target added we can also buy an industrial fridge.
Q: What would be your top tips for others considering crowdfunding.
A: Grow your crowd!
Q: Did you receive any funding from Crowdfunder's funding partners?
Q: You received support from Trust for London & City Bridge Trust for the value of £2,225, how did you find the grant application process via Crowdfunder?
A: Compared to normal grant applications the form was very straightforward and easy to do!
