We are a group of local residents that were very disappointed by the village Christmas lights.
They were truly awful and if I'm completely honest, they were embarrassing.
Instead of sitting on our bums moaning, we set up a simple Facebook group and decide to approach the Parish Council with the offer to raise funds to purchase brand new sparkly lights.
Of course, they bit our hands off...who wouldn't?
Councils are struggling to keep essential services going so Christmas Lights are probably the least of their worries.
We think that Christmas is an important time of year, the one time that we should be able to relax and enjoy our families.
Our venture has allowed us to hold a special 'switch on' event. It has brought the village together for one night of the year, to showcase what our fabulous community can do.
Due to our switch on, the local business group wanted to hold a Christmas Market to run alongside the switch on and the longstanding Parish Council Fayre...now into it's 3rd year, that is also going from strength to strength.
We feel that the bigger our display gets, the more visitors will come to see our fantastic lights, visit the market and fayre.
This can only benefit the shops, pubs and other business's, many of whom rely on passing trade.
Please...help us to make our village sparkle.
