WCT aspires to be a Centre of Excellence for swimming training and physical and mental development for all age groups and abilities in Ryde area and the wider Isle of Wight. This pandemic has made the population and indeed the Government re- alize the importance of keeping fit, so the market is ready to be tapped.
Sport is an essential community activity enabling friendship, physical and mental enhancement and in some cases healing.
Since 2011, when it faced closure, the pool, through community effort, has been transformed as a valuable and fully used community asset needing minor subsidy to undertake essential repairs and improvements to its old infrastructure and the continuing support from Ryde Town Council our partners has been essential.
A new studio added to the existing structure will allow additional recreational activities to take place alongside swimming with very little extra overhead this over time will enable the pool to become financially self-sufficient.
The development of dry side sporting activities will broaden the offer to customers and increase the attractiveness of the facility. This in turn will increase participation and contribute to the health and well being of the community. The increased revenue will improve income at the margins and assist further development of the Trust’s aims.
The space will enable us to provide the following activities :- Spinning
