After working as a barista and a coffee shop owner after the past 6 years I have had experience in all types of coffee shops. One thing that I always found was the sense of community and connection that these places brought to people. As being in recovery from addictions I have come to realise how important this connection is and started planning a way of creating a fully positive and creative space in which people can be themselves. Without the opportunities that were given to me I wouldn't be where I am today, so using the knowledge I have gained I am building a team of focused and like-minded people to give them opportunities back to those who would not usually get a chance. Working closely with local charities and suppliers to create a greater sense of community. We will be focused on training up volunteers and staff to give them skills for further employment, working with Redemption Roasters to supply our coffee from Aylesbury prison where they do amazing work with young offenders and re offenders. We will create workshops in all aspects from coffee to art. Displaying art from local artists and other recovering addicts.
We are looking to raise final funds to guarantee opening in 2019 and the equipment to start workshops and events immediately.
