Newhaven, a deprived coastal community has few jobs for young people. We teach them streaming, hands-on, practical skills for modern jobs.

Newhaven, new skills, new jobs

Streaming is the biggest growth area in the music business but not many people can do it. There are not really any courses for kids to learn. We want to put that right - for the kids and bigger kids in our coastal areas where there are not many jobs.  See our video above for all the great shows that we make and will show the kids how to make.

We run real projects for the kids to make the TV programme and broadcast it on real TV as well as streaming around the world. It's totally hands on and totally real. What better way to learn. It's fun and inclusive but also useful.

With the support of the local college we will set up a course in a studio, where the Newhaven kids can become Hollywood kids, - we will teach them the skills to create their own great shows, and provide them with all the equipment needed to broadcast and stream online. If any adults want to join, we will welcome them too.

Our professional teams from Latest TV act as mentors and advisers, letting the kids make the programmes they want but ensuring they get al the help they need to be able to broadcast and stream entertaining and high quality TV shows. In the past we have completed many similar successful projects in Brighton and now want to extend these opportunities to our coastal communities.

Here's what our students have to say...

“I have gone from having zero TV experience to learning how to set up a studio, operate cameras, conduct interviews, produce news packages, record voiceovers, floor manage, and operate the TriCaster 8000 – You don’t just make tea, you actually make TV!”
Lucy Goldberg. UK

“Latest TV means a lot to me…  I learned different roles: production, filming, presenting and editing, all steps of a TV program process. I came back to Spain, from where I am, and I could use all my new learnings with a Spanish company where I am still working.”
Paula Silvestre, Spain

We will use the funds to set up the course and get all the equipment needed to make it fun, real and most importantly transfer the skills so people can more easily get jobs
