The VAST majority of people in Bristol are against the RPZ schemes that are being forced on them by the council. This fund is to fight them
About the project
85% of people in Bristol are against the RPZ schemes being forced on them by the Council. This fund is to fight them through legal channels.
The legal challenge will look at:
- The council is planning to use 'surplus' revenues from RPZ on things other than transport. Challenged succesfully in other places.
- The council has 'pre determined' its actions, ignored massive opposition in the consultation process and then gone ahead with its pre determined plans. Challenged successfully in other places.
- The council has desecrated Clifton, described by John Betjeman as 'the finest suburb in England', with signs, posts, parking meters being put in listed property without gaining the appropriate planning permission.
- There has been a 20% reduction in available parking in RPZ zones due to the massive and indiscriminate extension of double yellow lines. There is no logic to this at all and this theft of amenity can alos now be challenged as a result of new legislation
