SRCG is campaigning for the re-location of the proposed HS2 Stone Railhead to a more suitable site, due to the the significant effect it will have on the residents and businesses of Yarnfield, Walton, Cold Norton, Stone, Swynnerton and surrounding areas.
SRCG is campaigning for the re-location of the proposed HS2 Stone Railhead and future infrastructure maintenance base-rail (IMB-R) to the more suitable site at Aldersey’s Rough near Keele services. The SRCG seeks to achieve this objective by the presentation of overwhelming evidence that proves its point from an engineering, environmental and economic perspective.
To achieve its objectives, the SRCG is working to petition Parliament on behalf of local residents. This will involve members of the SRCG’s technical team presenting evidence in front of an all-party select committee of MPs, who have the power to make changes to HS2 Ltd’s proposals for Phase 2a (West Midland to Crewe) of the High Speed 2 project. To maximise its chances of success, the SRCG has been advised to engage a barrister to manage the presentation of its evidence and the forthcoming parliamentary proceedings, and we have successfully raised nearly £15,000 but we still need at least another £6,000 to cover costs in this respect.
