Stirling Highland Games 150
The Stirling Highland Games event supports more than just the social enterprise that delivers it. There is a bigger picture here and so important for the local event calendar.
It provides an experience for Visitors | a competition for Athletes | a community involvement project for Sponsors | a practical learning experience for Young People | a donation for our Charity Partner | an economic boost for the Host Economy.
Our mission is for Stirling Highland Games to celebrate its 150 year anniversary in 2020 by attracting the largest visitor numbers in its history!
More than just an event company!
Yes, we are a social enterprise that delivers events so there is more to our story than just event delivery!
As a social enterprise, our focus also includes our social aims so our event is connected with our Training Academy charity that provides practical learning experiences for young people and those involved love it!
To date, our event has provided practical training opportunities for up to 150 young people across the Forth Valley through one of our Into Events, Into Digital or Into Heritage programmes.
Be part of Stirling Highland Games history!
We want the 150-year anniversary event to be special so we are aiming to welcome 8000 visitors to Stirling Highland Games on 15th August 2020 but we need your help and all you need to do is choose one of our rewards to the right.
Excerpts from 1870
"A meeting of gentlemen interested in Highland games and Athletics met in the Star Hotel, on the evening of Friday last [15th April] for the purpose of considering a proposal to establish such a games annually." Stirling Journal & Advertiser Apr 1870
"Newly 4000 people congregated at St Ninians Well Green to witness the inauguration of Highland games in Stirling." Stirling Journal Jul 1870
Recent research suggests that the biggest crowd Stirling Highland Games had got was around the 7000 mark, in 1882! Wouldn't it be great to break that record as well as knowing you are supporting the bigger picture?

Our main committee is made up of Matt, Una, Barry, Catriona and Nancy:
Matt took ownership of the event in 2013 and resurrected it in 2014. He is the current President and organiser of Stirling Highland Games and puts in on average 100 volunteer hours during the week of the event every year.
Una looks after the whole games site operation on the day from within Site Control and has the committee, officials and section lead reporting to her.
Barry looks after all the highland games competitions taking place on the events field. He is supported by all the event officials, making sure everything is running to schedule.
Cat looks after all our guests on the day in the Chieftains Gathering marquee which includes sponsors, funders, Chieftains and invited guests.
