Hello! My name is Stephanie Hershaw and I am a British soprano from Berkshire.
I trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama for my undergraduate BMus (Hons) degree. Over Christmas, after a successful audition, I was delighted to find out that I had been offered place at the prestigious Royal College of Music on their Masters Course. I couldn't believe it! I overcame a huge amount of international competition and I am highly privileged to have been selected out of the hundreds of applicants that applied. However, I am now facing the reality that I need to fund my own course fees and living expenses in London in order to accept my place.
The Royal College of Music provides an exceptional quality of training and tuition that would be the best platform for me to continue my education. For example, the course offers language classes, singing lessons and masterclasses with international artists.
I love performing and to continue my training in opera would mean more opportunities for performances, creating more connections for myself in London and beginning a career in music. My long term goal is to perform at an international stage in the world of opera.
I am making every effort I can to fund this next stage in my career, such as working as an usher in between lessons and teaching piano and singing.
Tuition fees per year: £11,250
Average cost of living in London: £13,000
Any contribution would make such a huge impact and help me to become that one step closer to achieving my dreams. I would be extremely grateful for any donation you could make towards my degree.
