The St. Columb Minor Residents Association currently organise a monthly Community Market in St. Columb Minor. This not only provides a place for local food and craft producers to sell their good but it also provides a service for local residents. It is also becoming a social 'hub' in the village. The market helps support other organisations with funds being rasied for the local Church and other community events.
However... space is limited. The market would like to expand but indoor space in the village is limited and not often available. We have also had difficulty in the past organising other events like our Annual Dog Show, Summer Fayre, Christmas Light Event because we were unable to provide suitable cover/shelter from the unpredicatble british weather, this has an effect on footfall which in turn affects the funds we are able to raise. The Residents Assocaition organises many events in the village for people of all ages to help provide a sense of community.
We would like to raise £2000 which will enable the Association to purchase 8 gazebos. These gazebos can then be used at various events in and around our community. It would mean that the events we do organise would be protected against cancellation from the weather.
